Twitter Spotlight: Kristen Baldwin

Kristen Baldwin and I connected on Twitter over – what else – our mutual enjoyment of TV. Yeah, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette included.

Her excuse is that she’s Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo TV (after an impressive nineteen-year run at Entertainment Weekly).

Me? I have no excuse. Let me just sit here for a minute imagining what it’s like to get paid to watch TV.

Don’t miss Kristen’s answer to the question about a new question. It’s terrific. Continue reading

Twitter Spotlight: Prad Patel

I had already done a first draft of Londoner Prad Patel‘s Twitter Spotlight when something really cool happened: I got sick in London.

OK, that’s not the cool part (at all). The cool part is that Prad did a very sweet thing and sent me a care package at my London hotel.

Care package

Prad’s profile was already one of my favorites since I started featuring people I enjoy following on Twitter in that his answers were thorough and interesting and really made me think.

Twitter friends are real and don’t you doubt it.

OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest

@pradip: A sense of adventure – I’m great at causing trouble or doing things which are risky, or which most people would blink twice at. Being around someone who doesn’t have that fear and is happy to hold my hand as I take a plunge is definitely what ticks my boxes.

Twitter Spotlight: Adrienne Allen

Twitter Spotlights are always fun for me. I love getting to know someone I follow on Twitter.

These little interviews are even better when I learn something new about a real life friend. Today you get to meet the wonderful, whip-smart, fearless Adrienne in a special Monday edition of the Twitter Spotlight.

I adore her and think you will too.

Twitter Spotlight: Courtney Rubin

We should have met years ago–Courtney and I graduated from the same university in the same year. I knew her name from alumni magazine columns. Courtney handled our class notes some months.

I had read her writing in publications like Self, Fast Company, People and the New York Times and wondered if it was the same Courtney. Indeed it was.

But it was only through Twitter that Courtney and I finally met in person. Thanks Twitter!

Twitter Spotlight: Ty Bentli

Eventually, my goal is to include the whole crew from Sarah, Ty & Mel show in the Twitter Spotlight.

I was off to a great start with Sarah. Later, I featured Samy. And now, here’s your chance to get to know Ty.

Look out, Mel. Resistance is futile.

Twitter Spotlight: Carol Blymire

I am so impressed by entrepreneurs. The courage it must take to strike out on one’s own!

Carol Blymire is one of these brave souls. She has her own business.

But thanks to Twitter I also know that she was in a Rush cover band, practices Transcendental Meditation and has a super-cute dog, Dexter.

Twitter Spotlight: Captain Lee of Below Deck

First, let me get the bad news out of the way: Captain Lee is spoken for. As in married.

The enigmatic silver fox is pretty dreamy so I wasn’t all that surprised. Who doesn’t love the strong, silent type!

Anyway.

I became a fan of Bravo’s Below Deck at the gym. Marathons of Season 1 made my time on the treadmill and eliptical go by much faster. I wasn’t aware of yachtie culture and quickly got hooked on the ups and downs of crew members. Who’s flirting? Who’s fighting? And most importantly, how big was the tip?

Chartering the Ohana is out of reach for me (can you imagine how fun that would be?!), but I’m still hoping I get to meet Captain Lee for prime rib and Cabernet some day.

OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest

@CaptHLR: She needs to be my best friend, and my wife is. She also needs to be a beautiful person, not the beauty that only your eyes can see. She needs to have the beauty that radiates from within. I’m fortunate that my wife is both.
