Who is Rod Benson aka @boomtho? Only the most popular pro basketball player in Korea. And an entrepreneur, graphic designer and writer too. Remember when I told you about Rod’s hilarious blog?
The dude is smart – he graduated from Berkeley. A 2012 Cal alumni publication article about Rod quoted one of his friends thusly:
“He was kind of a nerd,” says Renee Pesiri ‘07, a Berkeley law student who became friends with Benson during freshman year. “He taught me the Dewey decimal system.”
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@BoomTho: Eyes. Smile. A bit of contentiousness that makes me have to work to prove a point.
OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)
@BoomTho: absurd.
OneChicklette: What you appreciate most in your friends
@BoomTho: they can tolerate me on a daily basis.
OneChicklette: Your idea of happiness
@BoomTho: self realization is key. Be happy with yourself and you can be happy with anything.
OneChicklette: Your idea of misery
@BoomTho: Whatever is the human threshold for too long without Mexican food.
OneChicklette: Your favorite fictional character
@BoomTho: Currently? Abed from Community. He just makes so much sense.
OneChicklette: Your favorite thing to eat, and also to drink
@BoomTho: Rib eye steak. Medium. Non alcoholic? Water. Alcoholic? I’ve gotten a taste for Jameson lately.
OneChicklette: Five tangible things you can’t live without
@BoomTho: Laptop. Cell phone. Laptop. Laptop. Laptop. I know that’s cheating, but seriously. I don’t buy things I’m not comfortable living without… except my coddamn laptop.
OneChicklette: What’s the number one item on your bucket list? (question via @SaraLang)
@BoomTho: I know it sounds cheesy, but a successful marriage. I can do literally anything I want to do right now. Most of those things I will get done within a few years. Some things are more difficult than others.
@OneChicklette: Who do you know via social media that you’re dying to meet in real life? (this question came via @floridagirlindc)
@BoomTho: What’s funny is there aren’t many people I follow/friend/tweet that I’ve never met. I actually keep my social game very tight. If we’re going beyond that? Holly Peers. Google her. I’m in love (today).
@OneChicklette: What is your most under appreciated tweet? (this question came via @MikeKelton)
@BoomTho: I have so many! I really think any tweet I take time to create goes unnoticed. But if Carmelo dunks on someone and I tweet about it? 100 RTs.
OneChicklette: A question I should ask the next participant
@BoomTho: Do you think you’re more interesting than the last guy. His (or her) answer will probably be yes.
OneChicklette: Random shout out (can be a person, your business, a web site, a favorite product or brand…anything)
@BoomTho: I should shout my business, but honestly, shout out to my mother. She’s not on twitter, but she’s pretty coddamn amazing.
