Twitter Spotlight: Candace Armstrong

I love this woman. You know this because I said so when she wrote a guest post about applying to graduate school and when I recapped her visit to Brooklyn.

As Candace gets ready to start grad school, I thought it would be a good time to put her in the Twitter Spotlight and wish her well on this big step.

Candace

OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest

@candacearm: Humor, love of delicious food and someone who makes me comfortable enough to be my true self 100% of the time (have you ever tried to stifle parts of yourself for someone else??? Miserable.)

OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)

@candacearm: Pleaser

OneChicklette: What you appreciate most in your friends

@candacearm – Loyalty is rare. My friends are there for me for the good, bad and ridiculous.

OneChicklette: Your idea of happiness

@candacearm: Wine country. Wine country IS happiness.

OneChicklette: Your idea of misery

@candacearm: Hunger. I DESPISE being hungry.

OneChicklette: Your favorite fictional character

@candacearm: A cultured person would name a classic book character – I’m pretty high on Liz Lemon.

OneChicklette: Your favorite thing to eat, and also to drink

@candacearm: The list is pathetically endless but at THIS moment, We the Pizza’s BBQ pork pizza (covered in fried onions), the Pinch’s loaded sweet potato waffle fries w hoisin duck, chicken and waffles and anything with duck (confit, breast, liver, whatever). Boozewise, I’m a big fan of rye whiskey cocktails, vodka and bubbles.

OneChicklette: Five tangible things you can’t live without

@candacearm: My girls, the gym (well, endorphins, but you can’t touch those), mimosas, an internet-connected device, and the Ina by Lelo (Google it and thank me later. Worth every penny)

OneChicklette: What’s the number one item on your bucket list? (question via @SaraLang)

@candacearm: Is it weird that I don’t have a bucket list?? It seems so depressing to me. Perhaps I should put making a bucket list on my bucket list.

In all seriousness, I try to be as responsible as necessary with heavy dashes of recklessness and spontaneity thrown in, in case I get hit by a bus tomorrow. It’s a good way to go through life.

@OneChicklette: Who do you know via social media that you’re dying to meet in real life?  (this question came via @floridagirlindc)

@candacearm: Oh, this is a tough one. I’ve been lucky to meet some great people so far.  High on my list would be @ArykanotErika for a night out, @bklynmf for a good TV marathon, and @Mr_MSG just because he’s awesome. And @JoannePistonsFan. And @OneTokenBlack. Okay, I’ll stop.

@OneChicklette: What is your most under appreciated tweet? (this question came via @MikeKelton)

@candacearm: This is the problem with overtweeting, my good ones are buried in a sea of my inanities. I recently had a good one about Paula Deen claiming she’d only dropped the N-bomb once. “Y’all know Paula lying cause nobody says n***er just once. Like what, you’re trying racism on to see how it feels???”

Awkward subject, but I found it pretty damn funny.

OneChicklette: A question I should ask the next participant

@candacearm: Name your worst character trait. I’m overly critical of everyone, myself included. I’m working on it.

OneChicklette: Random shout out

@candacearm: I’m leaving behind some of the greatest coworkers who have become amazing friends. Also Jay (@itsjak) deserves a shout out, trophy and a special place in the afterlife for putting up with me daily.
