I thought NYC had a lock on weird apartments. Craigslist will prove otherwise.
I give you a small selection of Los Angeles‘ rental oddities.
Pink tile.
Green tile
Carpeting. Ugh, carpeting.
This is the extent of the kitchen.
Like in New York, you can find sad window air conditioner units reflected in mirrored closets.
Just to be clear, I’m not moving to Los Angeles. It’s true that LA is one of my favorite places and I look forward to my trips there. Every time I’m there, I wonder what it would be like to live in LA.
I love these photos, and to be honest, there is something about that pink tile! Hehe

A fellow pink lover!
Apartment carpet is one of the most foul things on Earth!
I agree!
Oy vey. I miss LA but not the housing. But I kind of like the pink tile, which may be the residual effects of the narcotics from last weekend’s medical drama…
Drugs and pink tile for everyone!!
Hooray!
Oh my gosh, I cannot believe those prices for such teensy tiny little places! That kitchen killed me, haha. Not that I ever use mine, but I’d still like to be able to pick something up off the floor without banging my head in three places.
Pretty much all the apartments here in the Midwest are carpeted. What’s wrong with carpet? Keeps our feet warm : ) I’ve never seen ANY with that ugly tile, though, or kitchens the size of a linen closet!
My main issue is allergies but also the thought of previous tenants’ feet…
Some fabulous interiors there!
