I’m a new follower of Rubber Shoes in Hell, but its author @RateMichelle and I have followed each other on Twitter for a bit.
I mean, look at this bio! Clearly I was intrigued enough to follow. No regrets.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@RageMichelle: Sense of humor is such a boring answer, even if it’s true, so I’ll say that I most appreciate them having their own pillow.
OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)
@RageMichelle: Neurotic
OneChicklette: What you appreciate most in your friends
@RageMichelle: Those times when they don’t need me for anything. Fire breathing. When they join me in a psychotic rant about how much work sucks and how very annoying the other humans are.
OneChicklette: Your idea of happiness
@RageMichelle: 72 degrees. A hammock. A stack of books. A plate of cookies made by baby angels riding on unicorns.
OneChicklette: Your idea of misery
@RageMichelle: Wasting my life in a cubicle surrounded by people that I actively dislike and doing work that I have no passion for. So, you know…Monday through Friday.
OneChicklette: Your favorite fictional character
@RageMichelle: Jax Thibodeaux from Barbara Kingsolver’s Pigs In Heaven. He is the epitome of laid back and he can’t float in water. Truly the perfect person.
OneChicklette: Your favorite thing to eat, and also to drink
@RageMichelle: Anything that someone else makes and I don’t have to do the clean up. Not lima beans or yogurt, though. Coffee in the morning and tequila on Friday nights.
OneChicklette: Five tangible things you can’t live without
@RageMichelle: My paddle brush that people should stop touching, Earbuds, My black Doc Martens that I got because someone stole my credit card number, Lemons, coffee.
@OneChicklette: Who do you know via social media that you’re dying to meet in real life? (this amazing question came via @tammy)
@RageMichelle: Joe Strummer or Elvis
OneChicklette: A question I should ask future participants
@RageMichelle: Can I have a dollar?
OneChicklette: Random shout out
@RageMichelle: Courtney Barnett. My husband turned me on to her music recently and I am in love with the song Avant Gardener. Go listen to it.
Well…look! There I am. Thank you so much for this. I am very honored. 🙂
The pleasure was mine!

ooohhh..I hope you like it!
I did, thanks. Turns out I like her music!
Excellent! Now– we need to hear further elaboration on the Doc Marten story…
It’s actually fairly boring. Someone got my number and ordered a pair of boots and they got sent to my address…they were my size and definitely my style. The shop was in London, England. I called and asked why they sent them and they said that someone else had already called and requested they be sent to Indonesia. This is when I realized I really needed to check my credit card activity.
I disputed all the charges and didn’t have to pay. I told the guy in the shop from London to send me postage and I would send their boots back. He said no. Send the boots and he would reimburse me. Which be both know would never happen. So, I said no..send the postage and I would return them. He said..never mind..we’ll just write them off.
That was 10 years ago and I still wear them all Winter long.
Haha! That’s not a boring story, that’s brilliant– like a true love story about how you and those boots were meant to be together forever. It’s like you imprinted on each other.
I just recently found her on Twitter, and am loving her posts.
She is great!
Loved the interview, and the Doc Martens story is absolutely the best credit card fraud EVER! 🙂
Thanks for reading!
