I finally bought it: a sofa table

I have been trying to find The Perfect Sofa Table for a long time. Years.

What a total pain in the a$$, y’all.

I had my heart set on working with RecycledBrooklyn.

They make beautiful furniture from reclaimed wood. I wanted to support local business while also avoiding shipping costs. Alas, they were unresponsive, something that is apparently typical.

I eventually found what I wanted on Etsy via Happy. Home. Austin.

And it’s here! I love it.

Dena, the proprietor, was lovely to work with on my custom piece. She was communicative and excited to make the table to the specifications I provided using her stain technique. During the whole process, she sent me updates including pictures.

Short term, visitors won’t get to see a ton of Dena’s wonderful craftsmanship based on my apartment’s layout. The sofa table will reside between my couch and the wall.

But I won’t be living in this apartment forever. This beautiful table will get a chance to shine.

Disclosure: this is not a sponsored post. I paid for my table and shipping. Because I’m so happy with the outcome, I wanted to share info about Happy. Home. Austin.

I totally want that for my house. Isn’t Etsy the best? Every single person I have worked with from there to make custom items — between my best friend and my brother getting married last year I had a lot of crazy gift ideas — was responsive, professional, and did absolutely first-rate work. Plus, I loved supporting someone who was out there trying to live their creative dream.
