Even if you didn’t vote for President Obama, or if you don’t support Hillary, you have to admit
The lack of diversity among American presidents is appalling.
There has never been a President of Italian descent, or a President who publicly identified as gay or transgender. We have never had a Jewish President, a female President, a Native American President or an Asian-American President. Every single President has been Christian and just one has been Catholic.
My friend Cherylanne‘s seven year old was stunned to realize that every single American President has been male.

How can we responsibly continue to allow such a narrow segment of the American population to represent all of us?
We can’t.
Instead we have to believe that different perspectives are good for the nation. We have to trust that diversity and inclusion will take us in a positive direction. And obviously, we have to vote.
Amen, sister. It’s astonishing how CRAZY these stats sound to children…they just can’t believe it’s true. We just got back from Disney World, and the Hall of Presidents exhibit drove this point into the ground visually.
Hopefully change is coming
*applause* so true. especially appalling when we are literally the majority of the world at 52%! it’s time for some change
I am ever hopeful of our country’s/society’s progression.
Yes, this European-descent white guy American definitely admits it and is not proud of it, Jen.
So I can blame YOU FOR everything sounds like. π
My mea culpa is not quite that far-ranging, my friend. π
Too late! π
This is one of those things I can’t take back, huh? When will I ever learn, Jen? π
Hopefully never!
Yeah, you need me just the way I am, don’t you. π
