What’s new with you, @aswinn?

I reached out to lovely Allison Winn Scotch about an update to her Twitter Spotlight from September 19, 2012. She kindly obliged.

Here are a few things that have happened since the last time I stopped by:

1) Oh, ain’t no thang, but I have a new book out called THE THEORY OF OPPOSITES, and it just so happens that Jennifer Garner has optioned the rights to make the movie. Like I said, just, you know, your everyday, run-of-the-mill news.

Twitter Spotlight: Allison Winn Scotch aka @aswinn

UPDATE: Buy Allison’s new book, The Theory of Opposites, now.

How about this: we have Allison Winn Scotch, a New York Times Best-Selling author in our midst. Even better: she enjoys the same guilty pleasures as me, like Bachelor and Bachelorette.

I’m so excited to feature Allison here. Check out her books The Song Remains the Same, The One That I Want, Time of My Life, and The Department of Lost & Found.

Without further ado, Allison is in the Twitter Spotlight.

OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest

@aswinn: Sense of humor, brains, compassion, not bad to look at, intangible sexiness

OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)

@aswinn: grounded

OneChicklette: What you appreciate most in your friends

@aswinn: loyalty, kindness, snark, open-ears

OneChicklette: Your idea of happiness

@aswinn: my kids’ laughter, a blissful night sleep, spooning with the dog (and okay, my husband), a perfect run, a remote beach in the Caribbean, the weeping willows of the South

OneChicklette: Your idea of misery

@aswinn: total isolation; my kids’ bickering; a really, really lousy night’s sleep

OneChicklette: Your favorite fictional character

@aswinn: I know I should say a book character here, but I’m going to go with either Sydney Bristow or Felicity Porter

OneChicklette: Your favorite thing to eat, and also to drink

@aswinn: peanut butter chocolate ice cream or a really doughy bread. A crisp Riesling.

OneChicklette: Five tangible things you can’t live without

@aswinn: my kids, the internet, my running shoes…honestly, there are very few things I couldn’t live without. Moving across the country recently really illuminated this. It’s crap! All just crap!

OneChicklette: When did you first really feel like a grown-up? This great question came via @bookgirl96.

@aswinn: The first time I packed lunch for my son.

I know: you’d think it would have been sooner, like, giving birth or buying an apartment. But nothing had a bigger impact than packing lunch and tucking it in his little backpack. Probably because it reminded me of my own mom, and how much of a grown-up she seemed to little old me back then. There is/was something very ritualistic about it, and I knew – bam – I was all grown up. (Even if I don’t always act that way.)

OneChicklette: A question I should ask the next participant

@aswinn: What would be your theme song?

OneChicklette: Random shout out (can be a person, a web site, a favorite product or brand…anything)

@aswinn: I’ll give a big fat “heeeeey,” to all my fellow Bachelorette obsessives, which is a) how we met and b) a significantly important part of my TV viewing.

It’s nice to know when you’ve found your people. My people are and always will be on #TeamArie.
