Stop two on my thirteen-day, four-stop business trip: Los Angeles, a city I’ll never complain about visiting.
On one of two recent LA trips (is it any wonder I am TIRED?!) I had the distinct pleasure of attending After Paradise with my Twitter bud @AbbyDraper thanks to our friend Millsy aka Rob Mills.
Although Abby and I have tweeted and emailed a lot, this was our first in-person meet-up. She did not disappoint. Abby is as hilarious and fun as she is here and here and here and here.
First we watched the East Coast Bachelor in Paradise feed with our beloved Millsy and some wine.
TGIF, my friends. What do you have planned for the weekend? I’ll be home in NYC planning for next weekend’s trip to sunny Florida.
In the meantime, here are some fun/interesting/thought-provoking things I read recently.
You know I love Kanye. Dancing Kanye is even better.
What your cuddling habits say about your relationship. Honestly, I felt a bit melancholy as I read it (“oh! I miss how we used to stay connected in some small way while we slept…”) but ultimately I found the post sweet.
Kristen Baldwin and I connected on Twitter over – what else – our mutual enjoyment of TV. Yeah, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette included.
Her excuse is that she’s Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo TV (after an impressive nineteen-year run at Entertainment Weekly).
Me? I have no excuse. Let me just sit here for a minute imagining what it’s like to get paid to watch TV.
Don’t miss Kristen’s answer to the question about a new question. It’s terrific. Continue reading
The Bachelor returns tonight. And said Bachelor is Juan Pablo Galavis. This guy:
Sexy right? Desiree didn’t get him. Or maybe it was that she couldn’t say his name and thus didn’t see a lasting romance as possible with him.

I’m so excited to feature Andrea Lavinthal aka @andilavs here in the Twitter Spotlight.
Andrea isn’t just stylish for fun–she does it for a living as Style Director at People.com and previously with US Weekly and Cosmo. She also writes books and gives me big-time hair envy.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@AndiLavs: Kindness, humor and open to new things. And by new things I mean the new jeans I’ll inevitably make him buy.

In honor of the premiere of Desiree Hartsock’s turn as The Bachelorette, I am breaking all of the Twitter Spotlight rules and posting on a Monday.
I have a great subject this time too: ABC bigwig Robert Mills agreed to answer my probing questions. On Twitter, he’s better known as @Millsy11374 and yes, that’s a pic of Millsy riding the same elephant.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@Millsy11374: A sense of humor. Preferably a dirty sense of humor
OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)
@Millsy11374: Funny

It’s coming: The return of Bachelorette on ABC. Desiree‘s season premieres as on May 27.
Some of you love it, some of you don’t so I’m sorry in advance. There will be a lot of Bachelorette tweeting and posting during these next few weeks.
In anticipation of the new season, I wanted to feature college student Ashley Elgin aka @BachelorExpert in the Twitter Spotlight.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@BachelorExpert: Smart, funny and someone who brings me down a notch, I usually need it.

Have you met Abby Draper? No? Me either, and it’s a problem.
For now, I have to be content to follow this upbeat (but real) publicist on Twitter and enjoy her adventures in Los Angeles. I’m hoping that she might eventually inspire me to try SoulCycle.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@AbbyDraper: Let’s go with top three. I like a man with a quick wit and sense of humor, a kind heart and an ambitious drive.
OneChicklette: Your chief characteristic (one word)
@AbbyDraper: Thoughtful

Here’s a first: a former spy in the Twitter Spotlight! Emily Brandwin who also goes by @CIASpyGirl on Twitter has also dabbled in stand up comedy as well as public relations.
Versatile? Yes.
When Emily and I met face to face for lunch in LA a few weeks ago, I tried not to obsess over her past spy work, but it was hard (at first). Fortunately she’s used to people like me acting like goofballs and patient about it. We’re still buddies.
OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@CIASpyGirl: My most favorite qualities in a love interest are sense of humor and talent. “Funny” and “talent” are a killer combo. I also look for generosity of spirit, intelligence, smarts (street smarts) compassion, beautiful eyes, wisdom and an ability to overlook a new purse purchase.
Your chief characteristic (one word)
@CIASpyGirl: Grateful.
OneChicklette: What you appreciate most in your friends
@CIASpyGirl: Sense of humor! My best friend @Eminmotion is hilarious. Continue reading
