Friends with ties to Canada have raved about poutine for-ev-er.
“What’s it all about?” I asked.
“Fries, gravy, cheese curds, OMG,” I was told.
Other than the ‘curds’ part, it didn’t sound much different from the fries with gravy and cheese I ate in diners with high school friends.
And it wasn’t. Color me underwhelmed, poutine.

Business travel used to take me to Toronto somewhat regularly. I loved it. When I switched jobs several years ago, though, my Toronto biz went away. Until now.
This trip, I stayed at Le Germain (Maple Leaf Square) and loved it. This guy kept me company.

OneChicklette: Your favorite qualities in a love interest
@shankell: Breathing 🙂 I think my favourite quality in a love interest is allowing me to shine. I use the reference of Jay-Z and Beyoncé often: he allows her to be the beautiful and successful woman she is. I think a couple that supports each other, wants the best for one another, and genuinely is their partners biggest cheerleader – that’s a relationship I want to be in. I also like tall men with great traps – I am a strange girl.
StackMack: Conversation, kindness and passion. If there can’t be some serious word play, I lose interest quickly regardless of the other things they’re bringing to the table. It’s cliche to say, but seeing how they treat the people around them. From the way they talk about their friends, to how they interact with taxi drivers, servers and strangers on the street, kindness owns my soul. People who are passionate about what they do or are trying to do make me swoon. Whatever you love, chase it. I love those people. I also love forearms and calves. Weird, I know.
