How was your weekend?

After a birthday-driven, cocktail-infused couple of days, my plan for the weekend was clear: LAY LOW.

Bo-ring, right? In my defense, I had social plans six days out of the previous eight. My liver isn’t 23 years old anymore. Neither is the rest of me.

First there was a gluttonous, delicious birthday dinner at Javelina – yes, the site of that hilarious NYT review. If you get there, make sure to get at least one kind of queso. I was too hungry to take pics of ours so here’s one from Instagram.

Five things to enjoy this Friday

1. This Jimmy Kimmel Live video of celebrities reading mean tweets about themselves. I can’t tell you why this makes me laugh even after repeated viewings. It just does.

2. This pic of my friend’s toddler eating brownies.

3. This quiz about Tim Riggins. Because Tim Riggins.

4. This movie. Yes, Enough Said is poignant given James Gandolfini’s sudden death, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus is amazing and fun.

5. This Aaron Paul video Breaking Boise. I love seeing him have fun with his Breaking Bad fame.

I’m laughing, Matt Damon

Matt Damon is highly underrated as a comic actor.

He was great as Jason Bourne and all, but I loved him most as Carol, Liz Lemon’s pilot love interest on 30 Rock.

In case you missed Matt’s takeover of Jimmy Kimmel Live, here’s the intro.

There’s a long history between Jimmy and Matt. There’s a great recap of the relationship here.

I have my own Jimmy Kimmel history–yes, really. In 2008, I was backstage at the show for work right after Sarah Silverman’s infamous “I’m f*cking Matt Damon” launched. The people I was there with hadn’t seen the video.

So Jimmy pulled out his laptop.

Can you picture it? All of us squeezed in around to watch. People abuse the word ‘surreal’ but that moment deserved such an adjective.
