Jumpsuit Nation

I had always assumed jumpsuits weren’t for me. This long torso of mine would ruin the look, I figured. My natural waist is at least two inches lower than where clothing wants it to be.

Approximately two years ago, I bought a jumpsuit on a whim. It fit, but I fussed with it the whole first wearing, tugging the waist to where I wanted it. Unsurprisingly, said jumpsuit largely languishes in the back of my closet.

Still, all summer, I saw so many cute, casual jumpsuits, particularly in my neighborhood and it made me want to try again.

That is how I became the proud owner of three new jumpsuits.

First I found this casual one, in black, from the Gap. I am definitely taking it on my upcoming vacation. Of the three, it’s the easiest to take off in the ladies’ room.😄

A letter to Dr. Oz and other good reads and clicks

I’m no fan of Dr. Oz so I found the #OzsInBox reaction hilarious. I really like the way Dr. Jen Gunter laid this out.

HuffPo laid out the top 50 cities to see in your lifetime. How many have you visited?

Yahoo’s guide to locations featured in Serial. Is it creepy that they included this in the Travel section? I think so.

This Shoshanna jumpsuit is gorgeous.

I survived the mother-daughter weekend!

I had a mother-daughter weekend in the DC area. A cousin got married and Mom asked me to be her date. Dad is doing pretty well, but his health ups and downs mean he’s less likely to enjoy all of the standing around a wedding reception can entail, or a four-hour car ride.

I was [mostly] happy to step in, for the chance to see relatives and to try to see old friends in DC, time permitting.

And to see my mother too, yes. So long as she didn’t comment on my weight, hairstyle, lack of boyfriend and/or failure to visit.

The wedding was lovely.
