Five things I want to buy right now

1. This book by Damien Echols. I enjoy reading memoirs and the less they are like my own life, the better.

2. A Bazinga lunchbox for my Big Bang Theory-loving Dad. Not sure what he’d do with it but still! 3. These Stuart Weitzman boots. I’d kick so much a$$ wearing them.

4. This pink opal ring 5. Items for people affected by Sandy. All is not back to normal, folks.

Fortunately my regular train, the L, is back in service now.

Five things that made me cringe recently

1. This chaise. The seller claims s/he paid $1000 for it. Color me skeptical.

2. This guy.

3. Deryck Whibley dressing up as ex-wife Avril Lavigne for Halloween.

4. The L train staying out of service post-Sandy.

5. This Tampax ad.

What made you cringe? Leave it in the comments.

Future home of Whole Foods

Whole Foods is slated to open in Williamsburg at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and N. 4th Street mid-2014. For now, though, the site is a more or less a boarded up, open-air, unfinished warehouse.

At least it was boarded up.

Sandy made an impact.

March 2015: still not open.

Crumbling NYC

Is it any wonder this lamppost fell down?

Bedford Avenue is Williamsburg’s main drag so the city is very fortunate no one was killed as it keeled over.

New York City’s infrastructure is crumbling. This is the tip of the iceberg.
